Naeem sought our help when he felt that all hope was fading. Since July 2023, his health deteriorated and he was coughing all the time. "I initially consulted private doctors, but nothing improved," he said.
Naeem, who is the breadwinner for a family of six, faced not only physical pain but also a huge financial burden as his deteriorating health caused him to lose his job at a bag factory. Finally, after examinations, Naeem was diagnosed with TUBERCULOSIS.

Without funds to pay for the treatment, Naeem felt lost. "To be honest, I had no money and didn't know what to do," he said. Fortunately, his uncle lived near Calcutta Rescue's Urban Dots TB clinic, which offered him a lifeline by providing him with anti-TB drugs.
Naeem diligently attended follow-up visits and followed medical advice without exception. "He followed our guidance and never missed an appointment," said Dr. Ghosh, head of our medical department. After six months of treatment, Naeem is free of tuberculosis and can rebuild his life. For the next 2 years, he will now be monitored by the team to ensure that he does not relapse.
