Dr. Arkajit Goswami, who has only been with CR for two months, said he found his calling when he first learned about the organization online.

When asked how he found out about Calcutta Rescue, the 27-year-old doctor replied: "I found out about Calcutta Rescue in the newspaper and after further research I was fascinated. I was amazed when I learned more about Dr. Preger and his work."

Dr. Arkajit completed his medical degree and medical internship and worked in a cancer hospital as a pediatric oncologist. He is also pursuing an online MBA in healthcare administration.

Dr. Arkajit works mainly at the Nimtala Clinic and treats many patients with severe wounds. He is very moved by the lives and stories of his patients. "It is great to see how their wounds are treated and to see their smiling faces during the healing process.

If I hadn't come here, I wouldn't have known how vulnerable the backgrounds of CR patients are. The work also has its challenges. "Sometimes patients speak different languages that I'm not familiar with, and sometimes they cry when they talk about themselves and I don't know how to comfort them. But I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world."

Dr. Arkajit is an avid reader and enjoys playing football in his spare time. When asked what he likes most about his CR team, he said: "Their teamwork! The Nimtala Clinic has a strong team that takes on any challenge. CR's work covers a comprehensive range of humanitarian services and brings unexpected realities to the surface on a daily basis."
